The musical, Heart of Gold, written by Laureen Kuhl (book, lyrics and melodies) and Luc Martin (music, melodies and orchestration) will be premiered June 7, 8, 9, 15, 16 2012 in Timmins, Ontario.  As part of the centennial celebrations of the city of Timmins, Heart of Gold tells the story of the first days of the city.  It recounts the events surrounding the Great Fire of 1911, not simply as a historical synopsis, but rather the telling of a story based on love, courage and brotherhood.  The characters, most of which are historically based, speak of the heart.  The story carries much more than the events, it carries a message that still rings true today.
